THE sun will come out for Somerset over the next few days as temperatures start to rise again.

After a cloudy start this morning (August 3), there will be sunny spells later on.

In their south west summary, Met Office said: "A cloudy start to the day with fog over the hills and moors giving some drizzle.

"This will ease and skies will brighten to give a fine and hot afternoon with plenty of sunny spells, away from western coasts."

The temperature is set to peak at around 24C, before falling to a minimum of 15C overnight.

Tomorrow's forecast said: "Early mist and fog patches will clear quickly to leave another fine and hot day with plenty of sunshine. With gentle sea breezes it will feel fresher at the coast."

The maximum temperature is again due to be 27C.

For the rest of the weekend into the start of next week, Met Office said: "Generally dry and sunny throughout with the best of the sunshine on Sunday and Monday, perhaps with the odd shower possible by Tuesday. Becoming hot into next week."
