A sense of spirituality and mysticism infuses the latest exhibition at Ilminster Arts Centre.
‘Miscellany Three’ which open on July 30, showcases a selection of paintings, prints, sculpture and jewellery by three Hampshire-based artists, Penny Golledge, and husband and wife David and Deborah Robinson.
Penny is a Visionary Artist whose paintings she believes transcend the physical world, opens a doorway into other realms. Her works reflect her spiritual awakening on her journey through her family’s experience of cancer. Penny said: “I realised art awakens the soul and provides a bridge between the material, creativity and spirituality.”
David Robinson is a poet as well as an artist/printmaker, and combines photography with other mediums to explore the inter-relatedness of man and nature. David’s choice of mediums is as eclectic as his subject matter, incorporating anything from gold and silver leaf to driftwood, pressed flowers, and found objects, as well as words from his own poems. While Deborah’s recent acrylic and mixed media paintings have also been inspired by David’s poetry her work often explores a personal mythology focused on nature-based spirituality.
This trio provide a thought provoking and inspirational exhibition. It runs until August 25;
