DRIVERS are urged to leave plenty of time for journeys as congestion is expected to build on Somerset roads ahead of tonight’s Party in the Park in Taunton.

And traffic is currently moving slowly on the M5 northbound between Taunton and Clevedon ahead of Paloma Faith’s arrival at Vivary Park.

Traffic is currently described as “very slow” between the two towns and congestion in and out of Taunton is only expected to get worse before tonight’s event.

Paloma Faith, Billy Ocean and The Kaiser Chiefs are headlining three Live in Somerset concerts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Claire Kidger of LCC Live, the concert promoter delivering Live in Somerset’s series of concerts, said: “Excitement is building in Taunton ahead of Live in Somerset, which will offer three evenings of live music concerts from an eclectic mix of artists.”

Doors to tonight’s event open at 6pm tonight.
