A MET Office weather warning is still in place for the South West - but it looks like Somerset will miss the rain.
The Met Office has issued the yellow warning for flash flooding from 11am until 8pm tonight.
But forecasts look as though Somerset will miss any rain predicted.
Temperatures across the county will be around 20-24 degrees Celsius for most of the day, dropping to around 15 overnight.
A South West Met Office spokesman said: "A fine start with plenty of sunshine, but scattered showers will develop through the day.
"These will be most heavy and frequent in the east with a risk of thunderstorms, and Cornwall may stay dry. Feeling warm in sunny spells. Maximum temperature 26 °C.
"Tonight any showers and thunderstorms will soon die away in the evening leaving a dry night with some clear spells.
"A warm night, with temperatures holding in double figures for most. Minimum temperature 9 °C."
