ILMINSTER was in the party spirit for the World Cup quarter final as England beat Sweden and the sports club’s BritFest was a resounding success.
The event, which was organised by Paul Webber, saw a packed out pavilion for the football, with bands performing either side of the big game.
Andy Fish, one of the sports club directors, said: “Obviously everybody was in a good mood because of the football.
“The pavilion was absolutely packed out. We had the game on both screens.
“Afterwards everybody was singing and jumping around and dancing. Everyone was really in the party spirit.”
Andy is optimistic for the game against Croatia.
He added: “We are looking forward to another big game on Wednesday night (July 11) and we will have the two big screens on in the sports club.”
