ARNOLD the skunk has escaped his Somerset enclosure and residents are being urged to help find him.

An exotic animal search and rescue organisation has received reports the skunk has gone missing in the Rooks Bridge area.

Concern is growing that Arnold may have become trapped somewhere and people in the area are asked to check their gardens, sheds and garages.

Chris Mullins, who runs exotic animal search and rescue organisation, BeastWatch UK, said: “We’ve had it reported to us that a skunk has escaped its enclosure in the Rooks Bridge area - this skunk is white and his name is Arnold.

Chard & Ilminster News:

“Sadly, we don’t as yet have any voluntary members that can cover this area in a search, so we’re hoping someone may have seen this but not reported it to the police.

“Skunks don’t usually wander too far from their homes, so he shouldn’t be too far away from where he escaped, so could people local to Rooks Bridge to check their gardens and sheds etcetera? We’re greatly concerned that he may have got himself stuck somewhere.

“Also, if there are any physically active people out there who should wish to join us, it would be good to hear from them as we’re constantly recruiting volunteers who can help with searches.”
