IT was ‘fun at Britten’s Field’ as the town’s football club and Lions Club joined forces.

The two teamed up for a fun day on Saturday, June 23, and enjoyed a great turnout in the sunshine.

Andy Fish, from Ilminster Town FC, said: “It was nice to have the Lions back in Ilminster.

“It was their first time in the town for two years. It was great to see everybody enjoying the sunshine.”

Money raised on the day is being split between the Ilminster Lions Club and ITFC, with donations going to Children’s Hospice South West.

Attractions on offer included a fun dog show, craft stalls, arena events and food and drink stalls.

Andy added: “It was also nice to see the mayor there, Julie Fowler. She even had a go on the penalty challenge and she was very happy to see one of her’s go in.

“We hope to do it again next year.”
