A MAN from Somerset is set to star in the eighth series of the hit MTV show Ex on the Beach.

Farmer Tom Litten, 25, from Taunton, will be appearing on the show that aims to reunite ex-partners - stirring up drama and arguments.

The new series will start on March 20 on MTV with the singles at a destination that has not been revealed.

Previous seasons has seen the house based in areas such as Marbella, Bali and Crete.

In a teaser video released by MTV, Tom, who starred in a 2013 BAFTA-winning short film called Swimmer, describes himself as a spontaneous person, that doesn't take 's**t'.

He said: “There’s one thing you need to know about me, is that I don’t take no s**t.

“The three words that best describe me is outdoorsy, adventurous and spontaneous.

“The three best things about me are I’m chilled out, out-going, and I am always up for a good time.

“The three worst things about me are that I am the most unorganised person you’ve ever met, I am always up at the farm so no one can get hold of me, and when people do stupid s**t it annoys me.

“My relationship status is that I’ve been single for about a year and a half now. I’ve got no strings attached. Had to get rid of my ex – she was an absolute psycho, I can’t be dealing with people going through your phone every morning.

“The last thing I said to my ex was ‘what the f**k?’, she sent me a video of herself getting with some guy on a night out – who wants to see that?

“The worst way I dumped someone was my ex. Three days before I was supposed to go on holiday, and I dumped her by text. It was just too much, I had to get out. Block – see ya later.

“One thing you don’t know about me is I used to be a swimmer, I was national champion – so hey, I’m not afraid to get wet.

“I don’t have any good chat up lines, you won’t be hearing any of that out here. All you’ll be hearing is some smooth farmer chat.

“My idea of a perfect date would be going up to the farm, out in the field, shooting – and she can see my rifle.

“The reason I’ve come onto Ex on the Beach is I’ve come out of a three year relationship and I am ready to get out there.”

The series will also feature Geordie Shore's Marnie Simpson.

Catch Tom, his ex, and the rest of the singles at 10pm on March 20.
