EIGHT people were taken to hospital following a fatal crash on the M5 between Taunton and Wellington.
South Western Ambulance Service was called at 6.24am today (February 9) after reports of a multi vehicle crash on the M5 between J25 (Taunton) and J26 (Wellington).
The ambulance service sent 15 resources including six ambulances, four rapid response vehicles, two officers, two air ambulances and one BASICS doctor to the scene.

But sadly a person died at the scene.
A spokesman for SWAFST, said: "We treated 10 patients in total with eight being taken in to hospital.

"Six patients were taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton by road ambulance and two were taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by air ambulance.
"The carriageway is likely to be closed for some time, please avoid the area"
