PLANS for phase one of Ilminster's big Canal Way development have been submitted, and two workshops are being held so townspeople can find out more.

If approved, the new full planning application will see 144 homes built on the site on the south west side of Ilminster.

The Canal Way Action Group will be holding drop-in sessions on Saturday (February 3) at the historic Market House in the centre of Ilminster from 10am until noon, and at the Archie Gooch Pavilion from 1.30pm until 3.30pm.

In addition, information will be posted on its Facebook page at CanalWayActionGroup.

South Somerset District Council is accepting comments on the application until February 28.
