CHARD and Ilminster could be set for a white Christmas with snow forecast on Friday.
Met Office is forecasting snow for parts of South Somerset with the weather then travelling up to Taunton.
In today's south west forecast, Met Office said: "It will be a mild and windy day, with often cloudy skies but perhaps a few brighter breaks at times too.
"A little rain may reach western parts of the region by the end of the day."
Tomorrow's forecast said: "Wet and mild at first, with outbreaks of rain steadily clearing.
"Thereafter, it will turn brighter and much colder with a brisk northwesterly wind."
For Friday and into the weekend, it is expected to be 'windy and bitterly cold with scattered snow showers'
There are also chances of rain, sleet and snow on Sunday.
