A commuter has spoken of her shock and claims a member of the public stepped in to stop somebody throwing themselves in front of a train between Taunton and Bristol.
The Bristol-bound travel said the 7.51am train to Glasgow is now delayed following the incident at Bridgwater Station about 8.20am this morning.
The woman, who did not give her name, said: “They were pulled free by a member of the public and missed the train by inches.
“Our driver is very shaken up. The person was on the platform trying to jump.

“The driver hit the brakes as we were travelling vert fast was convinced he had hit them. It took ages to stop, they would not have stood a chance.”
The train involved was run by Cross Country.
A spokesperson for Great Western Rail said the description of the incident given is “accurate” and said it was a “very near miss.”
