CHRISTOPHER John Pitman and Gemma Louise Davis were married at St James the Less, Hambridge, on June 9.

The Rev Alan Elswood conducted the service.

The bridegroom, a mechanic, is the only son of Roger and Margaret Pitman of Beercrocombe, while the bride, a telesales team leader, is the second daughter of Dennis and Geraldine Davis of Barberry Drive, Chard.

After being driven to the church in a 1930 Cadillac, Gemma was given away by her father.

She wore a full-length, off-the-shoulder ivory dress with pearl beading and a full veil. She carried a bouquet of cream roses and trailing ivy, made by Bridget Coombes.

Matron of honour was Lynsey Lawrence (bride's sister), and her bridesmaids were Katie Pitman (bridegroom's sister), Kathryn Blackshaw (bride's friend) and Vikki Bellinger (bride's cousin). All wore long brown satin off-the-shoulder dresses with cream sashes, and carried bouquets similar to Gemma's.

Pageboy was Zach Fox (friend's son).

Christopher's best man was Thomas Stone and the ushers were Christian Guppy, Nick Foster, George Bawler and Jack Bawler. Sadie Fookes acted as a witness.

A reception for 85 guests was held at Hambridge Village Hall, followed by an evening celebration.

The beautiful wedding cake, which depicted all the members of both families, was made by Mary Adams.

Christopher and Gemma would like to thank Richard and Bridget Coombes for the lovely flowers, and for all their time and help; Sue Vickery for the catering; Party Calls, Chard; and all their family and friends for making their day so special.
