MOTORISTS are facing delays of up to 60 minutes after a three vehicle crash closed two lanes of the M5 southbound. 

The crash is believed to have happened at around 1pm at J24 on the M5 southbound. 

All lanes have now reopened but there is queuing traffic on the road. 

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called at around 12.15pm to reports of a crash on the M5 soutbound near junction 24.

"Three vehicles were involved in the crash and the fire service and ambulance attended. 

"No-one was seriously injured, the passengers were treated for minor injuries at the scene. 

"There was debris left on the road which Highways England cleared away.

"There are still some delays but the traffic is slowly returning to normal."

Firefighters were also at the scene and made the vehicles safe after the crash."

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, said: "The fire service were called to assist other agencies with a road traffic collision on the M5.

"Two crews from Bridgwater and one crew from Taunton attended.

"On arrival the crew confirmed that there had been a road traffic collision involving three vehicles.

"The crews made the vehicles and surrounding area safe and left the incident in the hands of the police."
