SIGNED memorabilia from Manchester United, Ant and Dec, and other TV stars will join West End tickets and local prizes at a charity auction in Chard.

The event has been organised by football team Chard Rangers and will raise money for the Catherine Wells-Burr Foundation.

The auction is being held at Cricket St Thomas golf club on Saturday, July 8, with doors opening at 7pm.

The lots will feature sports memorabilia from Manchester United, TV personalities including Ant and Dec, sporting event tickets, London West End theatre tickets, and more.

Jamie Best, Chard Rangers’ first team manager, said: “At the start of the season we were looking at fundraisers that we could do and we felt that we wanted to do a charity event for the Catherine Wells-Burr Foundation.

“One of her relatives used to play for the club and Catherine was the same age as a lot of our players.

“We thought the auction was a little bit different and being a sports club we thought we might be able to get some professional teams to support us.

“We have a signed Manchester United football, some signed bits from Great British Bake Off, Good Morning Britain and West End theatre tickets.

“We just want to raise as much as possible. The main thing for us is to try and get as many people there as possible. Hopefully that we get us the highest bids we can and support Catherine and her family.

“I have been involved with the club for a few seasons and they are always trying to raise money for charities, especially local ones.”

Gifts have also been donated by Chard companies, including a Henry vacuum cleaner and a tool from Numatic, prizes from McDonalds, a gift from Razook’s hairdressers, a donation from Pure Hair and Beauty, and prizes from Eleos cafe.

Entry is £12 per person. A complementary drink will be given on arrival, there will be a live band, the IOUs, and a disco to end the night.

The dress code is smart casual, and tickets are available to buy from Catherine’s family, The Phoenix Hotel, and Chard Rangers FC managers.
