AN ELDERLY man who died following a crash on the A303 this week has been named.
William Roberts, 81, from the Combe St Nicholas area, died after his car was in collision with another vehicle on the A303 at Ham Hill on Monday (February 28).
Police said Mr Roberts was travelling westbound along the A303 at about 1.15pm when he was reported to have crossed the centre of the road on to the eastbound carriageway.
His car was in collision with a car travelling in the opposite direction.
Mr Roberts sadly died at the scene.
Collision investigators would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have information to help their enquiries.
Witnesses are being asked to contact the collision investigation unit on 101, quoting reference CI/37/17.
