A VULNERABLE Chard man who has learning difficulties and speaks very little English has gone missing.
Police are asking the public to help find missing Portguese native Vasco Macedo after he was last seen at around 12.30am yesterday (January 19).
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "We’re concerned for his welfare as he has learning difficulties and does not speak any English.
"Vasco is described as white, approximately 5ft 7ins tall and of skinny build.
"He has green eyes, dark brown curly hair and a goatee beard. He is also said to have a distinctive walk as his feet point inwards.
"It is believed he is wearing a coat, jeans and blue trainers."
Mr Macedo is known to frequent the Jocelyn Park area of Chard and Chard reservoir.
Inspector Chas Caple said: “Vasco is likely to be cold and scared and we’re increasingly concerned for his welfare.
“His learning difficulties and inability to speak English mean he may find it difficult to communicate his fears and so we’re asking for the public’s help to find him.
“He previously went missing a few months ago for several days before he was found sleeping rough by a member of the public.
“I’d ask everyone in the Chard area to go and check sheds, garages, outbuildings and gardens for any sign of Vasco.
“We are using a significant amount of resources, including the police helicopter, to find him but we really need the public to support us.”
