A CAR was completely destroyed in a suspected arson attack near Chard last night.
Firefighters attended reports of a car well alight at The Drift in Forton, Chard, shortly after 9pm yesterday evening (Monday, January 9).
The car was located off of the public highway near some woodland, and the crew quickly managed to extinguish the fire using a compressed air foam jet.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue confirmed the fire had completely destroyed the car and that the service believe the blaze had been started deliberately.
