CHARD Camera Club held their latest evening of activity by visiting Lyme Regis sea front last Thursday.

Their chairman Drew Anderson assisted by Dorset professional photographer Si Emmitt passed on their knowledge of painting by light to the 16 members who attended.

Si Emmitt, the local professional photographer, acted as the assistant to the many members present when he was engaged to be the person used to swing burning wire wool above his head whilst dodging sparks so as the other photographers could take images of his labour.

Various other means of illumination were used to give the opportunity of recording long exposure images.

Resulting images were most impressive and members are sure that they will appear in future competitions at the club.

The club holds such outdoor events throughout the year and are well attended by the members wanting to improve on their techniques and learn other aspects of their art.

Most members are self taught and as result are always willing to learn new methods from like minded people.

They meet at 7.30pm in the Baptist Church Hall, Holyrood Street on the first and third Thursday of the month.
