FIREFIGHTERS had to cut free a casualty following a two car crash in Crewkerne.

The crash happened shortly after 6pm on Friday, August 19 on the Roundham Straight near Crewkerne.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said that on arrival the crew got to work with hydraulic equipment to assist with the extrication of the casualty.

A second casualty was already out of the vehicle with minor injuries.

A police spokesman said they were called to the two vehicle crash at around 6pm.

The road was closed while one person was treated with head injuries and a second with minor injuries.

The ambulance were also in attendance.

The road reopened at aorund 7.30pm.
