THERE are delays on the railways after a person was hit by a train between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads.

The incident happened earlier this morning, and as a result National Rail has cancelled some services - affecting those travelling to and from Somerset. 

There will be disruption until around 1pm.

Some lines have now reopened but trains are expected to continue to be delayed by up to 90 minutes, cancelled or revised.

Alternative travel options:

Road transport has been requested to operate between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads.

Passengers may use First Bus routes 10, 37, 38, 39, X39, 178, 265, 267, 271 and 272.

Passengers may use Stagecoach bus route 66 between Swindon and Oxford.
