YEAR 6 pupils at a Chard school celebrated the end of the year with a special meal.
Students from Redstart Primary School enjoyed a commemoration meal hosted by Palmer and Howells, the school’s caterers.
The dinner marks the transition into secondary school and a celebration of their time at Redstart.
The school hall became a restaurant for the day and the students were welcomed with a fruit punch and homemade canapés, including shot glasses filled with Gazpacho Soup and hot brie balls served with a sweet chilli dip.
The main course and dessert were roast turkey with all the trimmings followed by homemade blackcurrant filled meringues.
Beth Souser, the trust manager for the Redstart Learning Partnership, said: “There were many fantastic comments and accolades for Paula, chef manager for Palmer and Howells, and her team with the students enjoying the opportunity to be treated to this special meal.
“We wish them all good luck as they move onto secondary education.”
