RESIDENTS of Ilton were bowled over as part of the cricket club’s big weekend.

The fun weekend kicked off with a Junior cricket tournament on the Friday, where family, friends and club members cheered on the competing young players throughout the evening.

After a tough battle the winners were “The Gladiators”. Individual outstanding player of the tournament was Brooke.

On Saturday, the club’s senior team took on Hatch Beauchamp in a Twenty20 match which took place under blue skies with spectators entertained by cricket mixed with skill, comic moments, plenty of banter, whilst the burgers, sausages, tea, copious quantities of “Speciality Beers & Ciders “ followed by music in the club house provided by Band “Best kept Secret.

Monies raised were donated to the children’s charity The Jemima Layzell Trust.
