BARRINGTON Players, who were established in 2006 and operate out of Barrington Village Hall, near Ilminster, attended a glittering ceremony at Haynes Motor Museum on Saturday, May 7.

More than 400 cast and crew, representing 25 pantomimes, which had taken place all over Somerset, Chardstock and Devon, came together for the annual Somerset Fellowship of Drama Cinderella Trophy Awards for Pantomime.

The awards seek to promote best practice in pantomime production and recognise and encourage talent.

They are run as a competition, taking place over the winter months (December to March) in which groups affiliated to the Somerset Fellowship of Drama can enter their pantomimes to be judged by a member of the Adjudicating Panel.

They are seen as “The Oscars” of West Country Panto! Barrington Players received several nominations – Grace Dean and Hannah Applegate from Barrington, for ‘Stars of the Future’ (recognition of talent under 16), Joshua Lee and Dan Jones for Lighting, Squire Creep, played by Colin Strickland for Best Villain, and Rosie Reeve for Make Up!
