SIMON Paul Barnett and Heidi Samantha Pugh, both of Chard, were married at St Mary's Church, Chard, on May 19.

The Rev Tony Woodward officiated.

The bridegroom, who works at Numatic International, Chard, is the only son of Paul and Emily Barnett of Bubwith Close, Chard. The bride, a self-employed aromatherapist, is the only daughter of Michael and Jean Ann Pugh of Chaffcombe Road, Chard.

Given away by her father, Heidi wore an ivory chiffon dress, decorated with Swarovski crystals, and carried a bouquet of ivory calla lilies and deep lilac roses.

Her attendants were Julie MacDonald and Theresa Blackwell, who wore outfits of deep lilac coloured bodices with laced backs and straight skirts. They carried bouquets of ivory calla lilies.

Simon's best man was Steven Trigg, and the ushers were Mark Parsons and Tony Coleman.

A reception lunch for family and friends was held at the Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster, followed by an evening celebration with disco for more guests. Transport for the couple was a 1926 Austin Windsor.

The honeymoon was spent in Crete.

Heidi and Simon would like to thank Kim Hill and all at the Shrubbery Hotel for making their day special, and Mrs Waller for the fantastic cake.
