AN ILMINSTER man who has been charged with two counts of sexually assaulting a woman in the town has been ordered to stand trial at Taunton Crown Court.
Robin Kieran Stanley, 29, of The Mead, Ilminster, appeared before magistrates sitting at Yeovil, and was charged with the offences which are said to have taken place on May 6 last year.
Stanley was charged with one offence of intentionally sexually touching a woman aged 16 or over, and was also said to have committed a second identical offence involving the same victim on the same date.
Stanley denied both offences.
Somerset Magistrates ordered the case to be sent to the crown court to be dealt with, due to its severity.
They adjourned both matters until February 22 when he must appear before a preliminary hearing at Taunton Crown Court.
In the meantime, Stanley was granted conditional bail and must appear at the court on the said date.
