PUPILS from Greenfylde First School and Swanmead Community School in Ilminster joined students from Crewkerne’s Wadham School for a question and answer session with local councillors.

Cllrs Val Keitch and Sophie Storey, of Ilminster Town Council, enjoyed a lively session and answered pupils’ questions about the town including sports provision, road safety, litter and non-sports clubs for the youth of the town.

Greenfylde headteacher Claire Oaten, who arranged the meeting, said: “Every time we hold one of these meetings I am always surprised by the maturity of the questions asked and how much enthusiasm our pupils show in their home town.

“We are very proud of the pupils from all three schools and I can honestly say that these meetings are a joy to attend as they give us so much hope for the future citizenship of Ilminster.

“Our thanks go to Cllrs Keitch and Storey for hosting this event and to the town council for the use of the council chamber.”
