JUPITER got back to winning ways on Saturday with a 52-42 victory over Abbey Meads from Swindon.

It was an equal start with both teams creating strong attacking play and forcing errors within their defensive end, finishing the first quarter 11-11.

The second quarter saw Jupiter pull away with accurate shooting from Paige Davey (GS) - but Abbey Meads stepped up a gear, keeping the score line close.

At half-time, Jupiter had a narrow lead 25-24.

The second-half proved to be a well contested quarter, with physical strength shown from both teams in the attacking circle with Jupiter having the edge and lead by two going into the final quarter.

The team ensured they kept the game calm and controlled to ensure they take the win.

A solid display from Saturn wasn’t enough to see off a strong Vivary team.

Saturn started strongly but could not contain Vivary and finished the first quarter down 9-16.

Saturn made changes at quarter time and constant pressure from Lucy Brown (GD) and Sally Haysham (GK) saw Vivary make passing errors and failed to extend their lead.

During the third quarter positive attacking play by Olivia Shorthouse (WA), Chloe Trout (C) and Michelle Stone (WD), kept Saturn in the game. Despite consistent shooting from Rebecca Hooper (GA) and player of the match Katy Cheese (GS) in the final quarter, Vivary managed to pull away and take the victory 35-49.

Neptune suffered a seven-point defeat to table-topping Tone.

The first quarter saw Tone lead 10-11 - and despite good centre court play and defending from Julie McClean (GK), they couldn't stop the gap increasing to 12-25.

Tight defence from player of the match Emily Rossiter (GD) couldn't bring Neptune back as the score was 22-37.

Neptune worked hard to make turnovers and with confident shooting, Neptune managed to pull back the score line to lose 36-43.

Venus were beaten 51-25 by Monmouth

Venus still trailed at half-time and again changes were made and the new lineup took the court, with a positive attitude and a target set by their captain.

Strong movement in the circle and persistent play by Kayl Haste and Cerys Etheridge meant Venus were one goal away from their target at the end of the third quarter.

Going into the final quarter Venus had the goal of getting within half, but fell just short.

Mars were also up against Monmouth and edged to a 25-23 win.

Mars trailed 6-4 at the end of the first quarter and remained two goals down at the end of the second.

During the third quarter Mars kept upping their game, ending with a score of 17-19 to Monmouth.

Entering the final quarter, Mars were able to overturn the score line to win.
