CHARD and Ilminster's overcast start could lead to rain today, with Met Office predicting a heavy downpour this afternoon.
In their South West summary, Met Office said: "Throughout today cloud will thicken from the south with many seeing outbreaks of rain by the afternoon, particularly in the far southwest. Feeling mild once again.
The maximum temperature is due to reach 15°C, before falling to a minimum temperature of 11°C overnight.
In the forecast for tomorrow, it said: "Wednesday will see a mostly cloudy start with some sunnier spells developing into the afternoon. Isolated, possibly heavy and thundery, showers will continue throughout."
The temperature is again due to peak at around 15°C.
In travel news, there are reports of slow traffic on A358 Mattock's Tree Hill southeast of Taunton.
