A RAINY start to the day is to to blow over Chard and Ilminster leaving us dry for the afternoon.

The chance of rain is set to drop from 80 per cent to 10 per cent at around 1pm.

The Met Office forecast for South West said: "Rain, heavy at times, will move eastwards during the morning, clearing by lunchtime to give some sunny spells, with occasional heavy showers from the west later."

The maximum temperature for today is set to be around 16°C, with temperature due to drop as low as 10°C over night as Met Office forecasts 'occasional heavy showers with the risk of thunderstorms' for the South West.

The South West summary for tomorrow from the Met Office said: "Early showery rain clearing away to the east by early afternoon to leave most places dry with sunny spells, perhaps the odd shower. Feeling cool in a brisk northwesterly wind."

The maximum temperature is set to be 16°C once again.
