I WISH to congratulate the new Mayors of Chard and Ilminster.

As a local councillor I have known Cllr Dave Bulmer many years and after a long time serving the community his appointment is very well deserved.

Jenny Kenton will be a hard act to follow, but I know Dave will continue to put in the same high level of conscientious effort into his year as Mayor as in all he does.

I also congratulate Cllr Rose Neave on her appointment as Mayor of Ilminster. Though only a town councillor a short time, she has shown a high level of commitment, and I am sure the skills and knowledge she has gained elsewhere will be valuable to the town.

She also has age on her side, which will help her engage with the younger generation.
