MAIDEN centuries from cousins Tom Bellinger and Adam Richards, fired Spaxton to a 44-run victory over Lympsham 2s in Division 8N of the Somerset Cricket League on Saturday.

Opening the batting, Bellinger scored 118 one day before his 15th birthday – while Richards, batting at number three, scored an unbeaten 104, to help Spaxton post 299-6 from their 45 overs.

In reply, Lympsham could only muster 255-4, despite 115no from A Hall.

Richards and Bellinger then followed up their fine batting performances, with impressive bowling displays.

Richards claimed 2-77, while Bellinger bowled 12 economical overs for just 33 runs.

Elsewhere in the division, Bridgwater Sports edged to a five run win over Belvedere 2s, thanks to 3-34 from R Gillard.

Defending 170-7, Sports bowled Belvedere out for 165 to seal a narrow win.

Wembdon Academy crashed to a five wicket defeat at Wells 2s after being bowled out for just 86 – and in Division Seven, North Petherton 2s cruised to a nine-wicket win at Middlezoy 2s.

T Everett (57no), J Blackburn (72) and L Winter (26no) were all in fine form as Pethy successfully chased down 174 in just 35 overs.

A Clapp (45) and B Searle (41no) top scored for Zoy.

Wembdon Wyverns suffered an eight-wicket defeat at home to Taunton Deane Crusaders, despite an unbeaten 64 from K Hicks.
