LANDLORDS at The Windwhistle Inn near Chard are hoping to reignite the pub's reputation as a hive of live music and events this Bank Holiday.

A number of events are taking place across the weekend of May 23, 24 and 25, including an ale and cider festival.

Ten different ales and ten different ciders from Somerset, Devon and Cornwall will be on offer in the specially-made outside bar.

Uncle Ron's Magic Show and a bouncy castle will provide the children with entertainment along with the outdoor games in the large gardens.

Live music begins at 5.30pm on the Saturday on an outdoor stage with many local singers and bands booked to play including local legends Seatrees taking the final spot on Saturday night.

Sunday is the folk sessions with local folk singers starting from 4pm, a music quiz with John the Quiz at 8.30pm and then a Ceilidh at 10pm.

On Monday, the Windwhistle plays host to a Classic Car Rally accompanied by Crewkerne's own Phoenix Brass Band, complete with cream teas.

Local craft stall holders will be showing their wares throughout the weekend, and a barbecue will run all of Saturday along with the kitchen being open all day every day over the weekend. Camping will also be available in the paddock.
