DREAM team PC Andrew Jerreat and police dog Elmo are representing Tri Force Operations at the National Police Dog trials on Thursday, (May 21).

Elmo, four-years-old, and PC Jerreat are competing against 20 other police dog teams from various forces across the UK to see who will come out as top dog.

There are three phases to the trials which will assess the teams on a full range of police dog duties including ability, obedience and criminal work.

PC Jerreat fought off stiff competition from 12 officers to qualify to the nationals at the regional assessments in March.

He said: “This will be my first time in the nationals and I am really looking forward to the challenge.

"I am very proud of Elmo, he is an outstanding partner.

“Elmo has been with me for three years and he came to me as a puppy from our breed scheme. We have worked hard to become a team and continually strive for excellence.”
