ENMORE Park’s men took on the men from Oake Manor last Wednesday and won the match 4-2.

Captain Nigel Musgrave-Brown partnered by Mark Hoar, suffered his first defeat of the season – this time a 2&1 loss to Oake captain Mark Harris and partner Nigel Jackson, who won four holes in a row to turn the match around, starting with a birdie three on the long 11th hole.

Winning pairs for Enmore were Ken Doig and Greg Taylor (3&2), Chris Marsh and Alan Vickery (3&1), Nick Laing and Keith Wilson (2&1) and Derek Bremner and Roy Lynn (1 up).

Enmore Park’s men suffered their second defeat at the hands of the men from Minehead on Saturday – this time at Enmore Park.

With three convincing wins and 3½ pts gained from the first four games, things looked promising for Enmore - but a late run saw the Minehead team win the last four games to take the match by 5½ pts to 4½.

Enmore's scratch team beat Cannington GC 5-0 at T&P in the Pickeridge Bowl knockout last weekend - and in the Lombard Medal, John Stafford will travel to Bovey Castle in July alongside Dave Wixon in the next stage of the competition, played in a 4BBB Pro-Am format.

His nett 67 was a shot behind Tim Jones's impressive nett 66 (gross 73) but Tim chose not to enter.

Division One saw Tim lead the way with a nett 66, three ahead of his nearest competitor, Paul Browne in second.

Jon Stafford claimed Division Two on countback from Dr Cecil Blumgart after both finished with nett 67s, closely followed by two golfers on nett 69.

A nett 70 was good enough for Les Nurton to secure Division Three by one from Steve Lukins and Daniel Grubb.
