MARRIED in Warsaw were Neil Barrows and Ania Sokol.

After a civil ceremony, the couple received a blessing in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Polish by Wojtek Turemka, and in English by Grahame Barrows, the bridegroom's father.

The bridegroom, who is employed in the finance department at Debenham's Head Office in Taunton, is the second son of Grahame and Jayne Barrows of Ham near Combe St Nicholas.

The bride, a student in Warsaw, is the daughter of Elisabeth Parjaszewska of Warsaw, Poland.

Given away by her brother, Maciek, the bride wore a white satin dress with pink flower appliqué and bead detail, with matching long gloves and bolero.

She carried an ornamental rose bouquet and had fresh roses in her hair.

The bridesmaid was Marta Nowacka (bride's cousin) and 16-month-old Amelie Hoppie was the ring bearer.

Neil's best man was his brother Gareth Barrows, and the ushers were Gary Langley (bridegroom's friend) and Maciek Parjaszewska (bride's brother).

Maciek also acted as driver for the couple.

A reception for 80 guests was held in the Windsor Hotel, just outside Warsaw.

The couple spent their honeymoon in Egypt and they are now living in Chard.
