A YOUNG man was impaled on a fence post after being thrown from his car when it crashed near South Petherton this morning (October 6).
The 21-year-old crashed his red Rover 45 outside Niddons Farm, on Lopen Road, just south of Lopen, at around 11.45am.
Police say he was thrown from the vehicle in the collision and his leg was impaled on a fence post.
He was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by air ambulance with the post still through his leg, close to his groin.
His injuries are not life threatening.
