The bird in the rafters
A BIRD, thought to be a sparrowhawk, took up residence in a sports hall in Taunton last week.
The creature spent the night in the rafters of the indoor tennis courts known as the Bubble at Blackbrook Pavilion on Wednesday night.
It refused entreaties by staff to move on and the courts were out of action while the bird remained inside. It eventually left of its own accord the next day.
