FAMILIES had a splash at Chard's Urban Slide on Sunday.
Around 350 people donned the shorts and T-shirts to slide down a 300-foot water slide through the centre of the town - all in aid of the Mayor Jenny Kenton's chosen charities.
Around £1,000 was raised from the event, which ran from 10am-4pm.
Mrs Kenton said described the day as an amazing experience, adding: “I did the slide three times and got wetter each time as the volunteers got a bit braver, by the end of the day I am not sure anyone apart from the small children got down the slide with a dry spot but the weather was glorious and no one seemed to mind.”
The event replicated a slide in Bristol earlier this year and for a video of the day and more pictures, see our gallery by clicking here.
