THE funfair will be back in town on the first Friday and Saturday of September.

The annual event lands in Falkland Square and is set to be a hive of activity over two days.

Visitors will be greeted by Disney’s Mickey and Mini Mouse, musicians and street dancers on Friday afternoon with the Stoke-sub-Hamdon band and the Dark Town Strutters the evening’s entertainment.

A mini beer festival and a hog roast will be available for punters in need of refreshment.

Wannabe singers will get the chance to create their own CD with The Levels Recording Studio, complete with backing music.

The following day features an all-day market in the square with stalls offering everything from artisan bread to stained glass and clothing to plants.

People are invited to embark on a 2.5-or five-mile walk around the boundary of Crewkerne on the Saturday at 3pm with all ages and dogs welcome.

Live music from Mercy and Jason Lee will bring the fair to a close, with a fancy dress disco for anyone who wants to dance the night away at the King’s Arms.

The event runs on Friday and Saturday, September 5 and 6, and is organised by Crewkerne’s Rotary Club.
