A FLORIST from Ilminster has raised more than £3,000 for charity after organising a ‘Barn Boogie’.
Holly-Jane Harris, who works at Cottage Flowers, organised the evening to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
Almost 200 people attended and enjoyed a hog roast, home-made puddings, live band The Intruders, bar, raffle, auction and skittles competition.
Holly, 25, chose the charity after her grandfather died last summer.
She said: “I wanted to do something positive in his memory and to raise awareness of the charity.
“The evening was a great success and I’m grateful to everyone involved, especially those who donated raffle prizes and auction items.”
Peter Breslin, a Prostate Cancer UK Volunteer, added: “We really are grateful, so well done to you all.”
The total amount raised was £3,272.13.
