BARRINGTON's annual village fete returns on August 23 at the village hall and recreation ground.

A children's fancy dress competition will start off the afternoon's festivities at 1.30pm outside of St Mary's Church with a procession to the village hall for the fete opening at 2pm.

The theme for this year's fancy dress is Disney character and there are prizes to be won.

The fun continues with the Phoenix Brass Band and afternoon teas on the terrace with a grand raffle.

A men's summer hat competition will provide much laughter and fete goers can enjoy some fortune telling with Mystic Mariner.

There will be stalls indoors and outdoors with a beer tent, Pimms bar and food village.

A dog show and exhibition of vintage bicycles makes a return with traditional activities such as face painting, tombola, bottle stall and much more on offer.

The fete takes place from 2pm-5pm and entry costs £1, children under 12 go free.

The price includes a programme with a winning lucky number.

The Barrington Boar will have music by the 'Railhogs' from 9pm.
