FLOWERS will be blessed in a unique service this Sunday (August 3), at 10.30am in the churchyard of St Mary's in Ilminster.
Nigel Done, the vicar of Ilminster and Whitelackington said: "Flowers and plants are such a blessing to many people, especially at this time of year, we want to create an opportunity to say thank you to God for so many blessings."
People are being asked to bring in a pose or pot of their favourite plant, that they can give away to pass the blessing on.
Everyone is welcome to go along and share in the passing on of the blessing. "There will be a moment to remember in our prayers the poignancy of a fragile little poppy and how much that has helped the nation express what words can't do in grieving for the those killed during war, and especially on the centenary of the beginning of the First World War," Nigel added.
