SOME of the best horticulture and crafts from across the area were on show at the Chard Summer Show.

The event took place at the Guildhall, presentations were held in the afternoon and there were a number of classes on offer for both adults and children of all ages at the family friendly event.

Members of the public were treated to refreshments and homemade cakes throughout the day and local firms generously donated prizes for the raffle.

There were 330 entries and organisers of the show, previously name Chard Flower Show, said the only disappointment was a lack of entries from younger people.

The committee wanted to thank local businesses for their support with adverts in the schedule and donating raffle prizes, also to Carol and Neil Cline for their hospitality.

They are also keen to locate the missing David Hill Memorial Trophy and if anyone knows its whereabouts, contact chairman Doreen Toms on 01460-64502.
