Chard & Ilminster News: Medieval festival, parade and firewalk in Chard Medieval festival, parade and firewalk in Chard

A MEDIEVAL festival and parade will celebrate the return of Chard Town Market Charter later this month.

The event, on Saturday and Sunday, July 19 and 20, will be held in the High Street and around Jocelyn Park.

It is based on summer festivities, marked last year by the hugely successful Flight Parade and Party in the Park.

The start will see the official handover of the Market Charter to Mayor of Chard Jenny Kenton.

Fire juggling, fire walking, live music, street market and evening market are on offer, along with lighting the beacon and other fun-filled activities.

Places are still available to join others in the charity fire walk.
