JOB loss fears were raised when staff at Lloyds Pharmacy in Chard were called to an emergency meeting on Monday night.
The News was contacted anonymously about the meeting amid concerns that the shop may close or people may lose their jobs.
A spokesman for Lloyds Pharmacy said yesterday (Tuesday) it was not planned to close the premises in Pig Lane and confirmed no jobs would be lost.
The spokesman added: “It is important to us and we have recently made significant investment into the store as it is now one of our new concept pharmacies which is all about providing customers with enhanced support and information to help them manage their health better.
“The team will continue to deliver their high level of service to the community of Chard which includes everything from medicine use reviews and advice on pain management, picking up medicines, through to type two diabetes screening and much more.”
