A CYCLIST from Chard went ‘spinning’ with family and friends to raise money for a charity that looks after her niece.

Amy Stewart and about 40 others took on a four-hour spinathon to coin in the cash for Brainwave.

She said: “My niece is quite poorly at the moment and is not well enough to go to school.

“The charity makes her feel better and gives her exercise she might not be able to do at home.

“It provides rehabilitation help for her, whereas the hospitals only help with the treatment and medication.”

The spinathon saw riders cycle on ten bikes in onehour slots.

Brainwave helps children with conditions including autism, brain injuries such as cerebral palsy and genetic conditions such as Down’s Syndrome.

Amy’s challenge took place at The Phoenix Fitness Centre in Chard on Saturday.
