POLICE are hunting for people who tried to break in to the Co-op store in Merriott.

The attempted burglary at the store, in Knapp, happened at around 2.20am last Monday as offenders tried to break in through a glass door, using a handle they had pulled off the wall.

They failed to get inside and nothing was taken.

Investigating Officer PC Kev Sugg is appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to come forward.
