Fire at factory in Ilminster

THE fire was contained in the extractor unit of the building which measured 150metres by 30metres.
It was extinguished using six breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets, one safety jet, a thermal imaging camera and small tools.
A fire service spokesman said: "On arrival crews confirmed that there was a fire in the extractor unit and requested a further appliance and an Aerial Ladder Platform.
"The water supply was supplemented from a street hydrant.
"There was major damage to the filter units and minor smoke damage to the rest of the building."
A SPOKESMAN for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said four fire engines are still at the scene.
Firefighters are using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

DAIDO Industrial Bearings Europe has confirmed the fire is at their premises in Winterhay Lane.
Nicola Green said: "We are dealing with an incident at the moment. It is under control.
"No-one is injured."
A DEVON and Somerset Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "Four fire engines remain at the scene.
"There is an ongoing fire at an industrial bearing manufacturer in a casting cell."
READER Tony Curnock sent us this picture of the fire, which he can see from his Beacon home.
He said: "I saw a fire engine arrive at about 12pm. There were no flames but just lots of smoke - it was black and then grey and then black again.
"It smelled like plastic."
