CUSTOMERS have been promised the ‘same high standards of service’ when the post office becomes a ‘new-look local branch’ on Monday, February 24.

The facility will continue in its existing location in Wessex Stores in Dyke Hill.

A Post Office spokesman said: “Your existing operator is keen to provide the same high standard of service as is currently received.

“The new-style local format is a simpler operating model than a traditional style post office.

“It is designed to handle products and services that are automated, meaning that customers can be served quickly and efficiently and transactions processed more quickly.”

Most services will still be available, including car tax, although customers may need to go to another post office for a small number of more complex or manual, paper-based transactions like international parcels.
